וכן תנא מרי בר בריה דרב הונא בריה דרבי ירמיה בר אבא:

אל יפטר אדם מחבירו אלא מתוך דבר הלכה, שמתוך כך זוכרהו.

so Mari, the grandson of Rav Huna, son of Rabbi Yirmeya bar Abba, taughtin a baraita: One should only take leave of another from involvement in amatter of halakha, so that, consequently, he will remember him [or: rememberit].

Isthe goal:

That I remember my friend. Or.

That I remember the halacha

Compare,possibly, with Rebbe Zaira standing for Torah scholars when he was too exhaustedto learn, also, perhaps,  with mitzvah ofteaching one’s children  = as a pretext forestablishing and reinforcing and enhancing the relationship.
